Professional Experience
Bill is a tax partner with 25 years of progressive and diversified tax, accounting, consulting and management experience providing business solutions to the unique needs of middle market companies and their owner-managers. Bill focuses on advising clients on business and tax strategies that create economic value for the benefit of stakeholders. His industry involvement includes services, real estate, hospitality, construction, manufacturing & distribution, wholesale/retail, healthcare, oil and gas, high-tech and investments (stocks, bonds, etc.). As the controller/treasurer of a group of closely-held businesses for several years, he managed all of the accounting functions, including cash flow analysis, investments, capital expenditures, financing, credit and collection, insurance, forecasting and budgeting.
Recent Engagements
Compensation Planning: Advised clients on the tax impact to both the employer and employee of exercise of qualified and non-qualified stock options.
Mergers and Acquisitions: Successfully assisted in the structuring of the sale of several high-profile staffing companies resulting in significantly more after tax dollars to the selling shareholders.
Franchise Tax Planning: Restructured a Texas corporation to reduce its Texas Franchise Tax liability, saving the client in excess of $400,000.
Education
Bill received his Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin.
Affiliations
Bill is a member of the Board of Directors of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, representing the Dallas CPA Society. He serves as Treasurer of the Dallas CPA Society. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, including the Tax Section, the Personal Financial Planning Section and the Private Company Practice Section. Bill is also a member of the Dallas Estate Planning Council, the PM League of the Dallas Museum of Art, the Richardson Chamber of Commerce and director of Dallas Children's Charities.
